What information we collect, use, and why

We collect or use the following information to provide services and goods, including delivery:

• Content you save to your account: project entries, notes, and Session Mode results and logs. Session Mode saves these automatically when you are signed in.
• Subscription status, if you subscribe to Plus.

When you first visit, your browser notes how you found the site (for example the referring page or campaign link). If you create an account, we record that against your account to help us understand which channels work.

We collect or use the following information for marketing purposes:

• A record of when you opted in and the wording you agreed to

We count how often each generator is used so we can show popular generators. These counts are not linked to you and do not include what was generated.

If you create a share link for a result, the result is contained in the link itself. Anyone with the link can see it.

Email updates without an account

You can sign up for Narrative Kit emails without creating an account. We use your email address, with your consent, to send occasional emails about new packs and free offers. We record when and where you signed up and the wording shown to you. We use Resend to deliver these emails.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email. If you later create an account and verify the same email address, we can carry your email preference over to your account. An existing account opt-out is not changed by submitting the public signup form.

We keep subscribers while they are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your address and decision history so you are not emailed again. We delete these on request. We use short-lived security counters to limit automated signups; we do not store an IP address as consent evidence.

Where we get personal information from

• Directly from you
• Clerk, our sign-in provider, which gives us your account email
• Stripe, our payment provider, which tells us about your purchases and subscription status

How long we keep information

We keep your account information, records of which packs you own, and the content you have saved (projects, notes and Session Mode campaigns) for as long as you have an account with us. You can delete your projects and campaigns yourself at any time. We delete your account information and saved content when you close your account or ask us to delete them.

Generator history, favourites and preferences are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. They stay there until you clear your browser data.

Our hosting provider keeps server logs for a limited period. These record requests to the site, not the content you save.

Who we share information with

Data processors

Replit: This data processor does the following activities for us: hosting the website, application and database.

Cloudflare: This data processor does the following activities for us: routing traffic to the site and protecting it (DNS and network security).

Google (Google Fonts): This data processor does the following activities for us: serving the fonts used on the site. Your browser requests them from Google directly.

We also use your browser's local storage to keep your generator history, favourites, preferences, your cookie choice, and a note of how you first found the site. This stays in your browser. The note of how you found the site is sent to us only if you create an account.
